The Devil Is A Liar...and Mad

I remember this great song by the Christian Rock Group, the Allies, with Bob Carlisle (the guy who sang "Butterfly Kisses"), The Devil Is a Liar.

I don't know. I started to sing this as I was uploading this video here.

A few days ago I blogged sharing that my son accepted Jesus into his heart.

Well I put my new little Flip camera to action and had William share in his own words below...His salvation came about in the midst of his fears from the devil.

I got to go find that song...and play it for William!

This is definitely a Flip Video Moment to Remember!

Nothing like the smell of freshly washed brains! I hope you inform your son of all the other Gods that have been invented by humans over the centuries, too, and how they can all be "welcomed into ones heart", or imagination, whatever... you wouldn't want him to grow up closed-minded, I'm sure...

I know you won't worry about those first 2 lost asshats. God bless you. This blog was linked to reddit.com which is full of ignorant and lost.

Sometimes I wonder if there's something in the water throughout the Bible Belt which causes you people to be so gullible as to believe such illogical trash.

This is bordering on child abuse. Putting the fear of an imaginary, fake, but utterly terrifying "devil" into the mind of a small child like this is sick.

Child abuse. Pure, straight up brain washing child abuse. You should be locked up.

I am shaking with anger at this. How dare you force a child to say such wilfully ignorant things. You belong in jail. righton (above) seems to be confusing ignorance with people who can think for themselves - look in the mirror, buddy.

Proverbs 23:13: "Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die."

Ever consider letting your child grow more intellectually mature before introducing him to this topic? No loving God would condemn your child to ETERNAL DAMNATION if he died before 'accepting' Jesus into his life because he wasn't old enough to comprehend the complexities of the topic.

You frighten me. I hope your child turns out okay. Terrible start, so far, in my opinion.

(Spoken)

You know Jesus, I've been thinking about you alot lately. Really, That's why I wrote this song.

(Sung)

I love you, Jesus
I want you to walk with me.
Take good care of your baby,
call you my baby, baby.

You died for my sins,
and you know that I would die for you, back.
What's the matter, baby?
You tremblin' Jesus baby

Your love, is my life
you know that if I'm without you,
there's a black hole in my life

Ohh, I wanna believe, its all right,
but I can
only pray in the night and it's up to you to save me,
Jesus baby...

(End)

Why not teach him to sing this?

Dear god,
Hope you got the letter,
And I pray you can make it better down here.
I don't mean a big reduction in the price of beer,
But all the people that you made in your image,
See them starving on their feet,
cause they don't get enough to eat
From god,
I cant believe in you.

Dear god,
Sorry to disturb you,
But I feel that I should be heard loud and clear.
We all need a big reduction in amount of tears,
And all the people that you made in your image,
See them fighting in the street,
cause they cant make opinions meet,
About god,
I cant believe in you.

Did you make disease, and the diamond blue?
Did you make mankind after we made you?
And the devil too!

Dear god,
Don't know if you noticed,
But your name is on a lot of quotes in this book.
Us crazy humans wrote it, you should take a look,
And all the people that you made in your image,
Still believing that junk is true.
Well I know it ain't and so do you,
Dear god,
I can't believe in,
I don't believe in,

I wont believe in heaven and hell.
No saints, no sinners,
No devil as well.
No pearly gates, no thorny crown.
You're always letting us humans down.
The wars you bring, the babes you drown.
Those lost at sea and never found,
And it's the same the whole world round.
The hurt I see helps to compound,
That the father, son and holy ghost,
Is just somebody's unholy hoax,
And if you're up there you'll perceive,
That my hearts here upon my sleeve.
If theres one thing I don't believe in...

Its you,
Dear god.

I found this post via a link from Reddit. While I personally don't think a person can make a commitment to the Lord at such an early age, I respect you for your passion. It's easy to flame someone anonymously, so I would take the negative comments with a grain of salt..

Repeat after me:

There is no such thing as devils.
There is no such thing as angels.
There is no such thing as demons.
There is no such thing as gods.

Religions, in general, are anti-woman; anti-intellectual; anti-science; anti-equal rights; and anti-progress.

A child of that age should not be indoctrinated to such superstitious nonsense. Let him make up his own mind when he is old enough and mature enough to understand the difference between fantasy and reality.

Wow....What a blast of comments on a simple video.

I guess it was a good thing I didn't have my camera out as my son asked me to pray with him and then we read together Romans 10:9:

"that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."

You don't believe in the Word?

Ok then, I guess I can understand your negative comments.

Faith is difficult to explain.

I'll keep my faith in Jesus.

Train up a child in the way they should go.... Theresa, it amazes me the hatred spewed by folks that choose not to believe. So very sad and thank you for sharing this special moment with us.

Your faith in Jesus isn't in question, you're obviously far too far down the line for that to be any kind of constructive conversation. Your child, however, should be given a chance to think about these issues for himself when he is old enough to think logically and rationally about them.

Watching him, in real time, being deprived of that freedom of choice by the very person he trusts most in the whole world, is painful viewing for those of us who once thought as you do, with an idealised, overly simplistic world view, which bares no resemblance to reality.

Weather you think he belongs to you or not, under the law of the land, he belongs to no one. He is an individual with human rights and it should be the duty of anyone looking on from the outside at what you are doing to him to intervene and protect him from you until such time he is capable of deciding for himself if he chooses to base his life on bronze age myths or the awesome truth and unfathomable majesty of the universe which we all share.

That is not a decision for you to make on his behalf and if you think it is, you're even more in need of help than he is.

Ministry Marketing Strategies said...

He made the decision himself.

For some reason that is difficult for some to grasp.

Here is faith....literally a child's faith...Sorry you don't see it that way.

I guess it's hard to explain to someone who does not know Jesus how real this is to my son. You can't see him at night reminding me to say our bedtime prayers or to hear his precious voice pray the 23rd Psalm at night with such conviction, now after being a Christian and experiencing trauma of losing his home.

That's ok. Jesus is real to him....and to me.
We will pray for you.

For all believers in Jesus Christ:
"But as it is written, Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love Him." 1 Cor. 2:9
If you guys are right in what you are "preaching", then none of us have anything to worry about, right? BUT, if we (followers of Jesus Christ) are right in our beliefs, then you have a lot to worry about!! Open up your minds and think about it!
"That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Phil. 2:10,11

God bless your family and keep you.

If you manage to wade through the other sad comments to get to this one, I just want to encourage you in your faith. It is precious and the most important thing in life. It is why we are here..to grow in our connection to God and learn to live as extensions of Him and His love.

"faith" = belief without any proof or evidence

Santa who?

Todd and Martha and Downstream:

I will NOT deny my faith.

Toddler's can't make decisions. What if he "decides" that he's gay?

I come into the blog commenting on this subject late ... following a thread from this place or that.

The most important thing ... given the extreme quality of some of these comments ... is to suggest to yourself that if "this" be "the enemy" ... not declared by me ... but declared by "them" .. then I shall move to The Top Of My List each and every person who appears to have spewed something that looks a great deal like "from the devil."

Let Go And Let God
God shall have the vengeance which includes saving these souls if they can abide.

It is so funny how those who claim to be open minded are so closed minded to something THEY don't believe in. Yeah, be open minded as long as you think like us right?

Don't be so ignorant yourselves. The child will make their mind up when he is older, just as some of you did I am sure and people of faith can say that you too are brainwashing your children's minds by teaching them that there is no God as well.

Why is it so hard for some people to allow others to choose what they believe in without becoming so verbally abusive? If that is what happens when you don't believe, that alone is enough for me to say, I don't want to become one of them, even if I am wrong. (which I am not)

Of course it is easy to say there is no God when you have done very little or nothing to actually investigate His existence.

I personally don't believe in athiests. To say there is no God means they are all knowing and since that is impossible for humans, their beliefs are misguided. The most logical comment a non believer can make is: "Based on their limited research and investigation they have found no satisfying evidence that God exists."

Agree to disagree with respect and like my momma would say, If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all because in doing so you show a real weakness in your character.
