Front-Line Gospel Outreach-Hope For Hopeless

Front-line Gospel Outreach is a non-denominational Christian ministry dedicated to bringing the hope of the gospel of Jesus Christ to the streets of our community. This ministry takes seriously the words of our Lord in Matthew 5:16 where He says, "Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven."

C.T. Studd, the famous missionary to Africa stated,

"Some want to live within the sound of church and chapel bell; I want to run a rescue shop within a yard of hell."

That sentiment is what this ministry is all about. It is my hope and prayer that lost souls would be rescued from the clutches of sin, Satan, and from the Judgment to come.

Outreach is usually done on the streets in the area of downtown Long Beach California at a park named Lincoln Park. This is a park where many poor and homeless people live and hang around at. However, this ministry is not strictly bound to that area. I am always looking for opportunities to do ministry in other areas as well.

There are three primary means by which ministry is accomplished on the streets. Those three primary means are as follows:

1. The Verbal Proclamation of the Gospel

Romans 1:16 declares, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek." Therefore, this ministry takes seriously the verbal preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ, whether it be through addressing a large crowd in the open air, or through one on one conversations. It is the firm conviction of this ministry that the gospel alone can save and transform lives for time and eternity. For this reason, the primary emphasis is placed on the proclamation of this message. For without this glorious message there is no hope for anyone in this life or the next.

2. The Continued Discipleship of Born-Again Followers of Jesus Christ

This ministry also takes seriously the great commission of our Lord Jesus Christ as recorded in Matthew 28:19 : "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." It is our God-given duty and priviledge as the Church, to help train up in God's Word those who desire to follow Jesus Christ. To this end biblical teaching is provided verbally as well as through written materials.

3. Feeding and Clothing the Poor Among Us

Also, we can see throughout the Scriptures that God is concerned for meeting the practical needs of the poor (Prov.22:9; Prov.19:7; Isa.58:6-7; Ezek.16:49; Lk.3:11; Lk. 12:33; Lk.14:12-14). In light of this truth, this ministry endeavors to provide food and clothing to those who are in need of these items.

Equipping the Body of Christ

Besides local ministry out on the streets, I am always looking for ways to encourage and equip Christians in the type of outreach that is done through this ministry. This is one of the reasons for which this website exists.

If you are interested in receiving more information or training, I would love to get in touch with you.

I feel priviledged in serving the Lord through this ministry. But I also understand that this is an awesome responsibility and I cannot take it lightly for one moment. Therefore I sincerely covet the prayers of the saints on behalf of this ministry. I am fully aware of the fact that in our own human strength and wisdom we cannot accomplish anything worth while for God. But through His power and enabling all things are possible to them that believe. Thank you again for taking the time to look at this promotional page here and
my website and for your prayers for this ministry.

Sincerely yours in Christ,

Oracio Sandoval
